Blogathon 2005
I guess you could call it amusing (though perplexing would be an equally fitting word) that the only reason I’ve resurrected the blog - or, indeed, any semblance of a website at all - is so I can participate in - and promote - this year’s Blogathon.
What’s different this year - besides that I’m sponsoring a kick-ass organization - is that I’m doing way, way more on staff than last year. Stacey, who is coordinating the event this year, has dubbed me the “Community Coordinator” which has thus far entailed everything from writing up content for the site to announcing the event on our Livejournal and email lists to recruiting the many, many, many volunteers we’ll need this year. We’ve regained the wonderful Elke as our German translator, and we’ll have three monitoring teams this year (as opposed to the two from last year) - The Yellow Darts and They Might Be Monitors, the two groups from last year, and the as-yet-unnamed Team Three (when a name comes my way I’m sure it will be fabulous).
Of course, I’ll be participating again - my fourth year now (does this make me a Blogathon veteran?) - raising money for NOLOSE during my 24-hour blogging of the body liberation movement and fat culture. NOLOSE is an awesome organization and one I’ll be thrilled to be able to raise funds for, so I’m really looking forward to blogging for them.
Potential sponsors, beware: I’ll begin hunting you down shortly.

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
