Chubby Girl Brigade
Here I was spending 24 hours talking about fat and body lovin’, and I missed one of my (new) favorite body-related sites, Chubby Girl Brigade. Participants there blogged for a charity I almost blogged for this year, Heifer International.
I haven’t had a ton of time to go through it, but I’ve really enjoyed the moxy of the writers (Generic Adult Female and Jerilyn), the variety of topics they talk about and just the sass of the site. A recent entry has a picture of a cow who has a cow-spot in the shape of three dangerously curvy women on its flank. In another less-recent entry, Melanie, a member of Chubby Girl Brigade, talks about accepting the body the good lord gave her (er, my words, not hers):
I have enough to worry about, whether or not my fat roll is pronounced if I stand a certain way should be on the bottom of my list. I’m pretty. I’m funny. Im sweet, compassionate and like to tell people things that make them feel good. I’m a good person. So I hereby denounce diets in favor of exercise and sensible eating, but more importantly, in favor of loving myself the way I am and not worrying about what size I wear or if I’m in style. There are more important things. Life is short.

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
Actually, the writers are Generic Adult Female (GAF) and myself. What you quoted was a submission from a member.
Regardless, thanks for your comment!
Yoinks, thanks! I’ll fix it now.
PS, I totally have a crush on your blog. Just thought I’d share.
