Bonus Level: Game 18

I figured if Colleen can toss her hat in for a prize, so can I.

Cat’s prompt is what your most cherished memory is. Until recently, I probably would have said it was one evening I spent in the backyard of my Grandmother Eleanor’s house, swinging with my mother in the hammock singing Everly Brothers and smelling the sweet, green smell of almost-ripe grapefruit trees.

Now? That’s easy. My wedding.

It’s such a recent thing that it’s almost hard for me to extract the best parts of the day; the weekend was a blur of celebration, with the wedding on Friday, the senior Ivy Day on Saturday and my graduation on Sunday. But I do remember the way I lost my breath when Colleen let her hair down around her shoulders, and frosting dozens of cupcakes in the morning with homemade frosting, and the moment during our ceremony when it started to rain, just a little. It rained a lot that weekend, but I remember having heard before the wedding that a rainy wedding was a lucky one, so I wasn’t too bothered.

Except for that pesky detail that we were, um, you know, wearing white. White sundresses. Thin white sundresses.

Anyway, it was more wonderful than I could have imagined, and we had the perfect, small party afterwards and then spent the night with some of my very favorite people (besides my new wife, of course) - my cousin, a good friend from Smith Jess, and my Best Maid (I have that term ©, by the by) Megan, also a Smithie.

So, yeah. That’s my most cherished memory.
