Level 35: Death in Sakkara: Episode 3

Continuing in my ongoing review of this game, I just finished Episode 3 Death in Sakkara (reviewed previously here (Ep. 1) and here (Ep. 2)). If you want to be completely spoiler-free, I suggest you catch up and read those reviews (and play those episodes, of course) first. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

All set? Fabulous. In this episode, Charles Fox first has to escape from a very hairy situation by solving a puzzle with instructions that are vague, at best. Fortunately, if you get the puzzle wrong, you die… but immediately get to retry the episode. Me? I died about six times before I figured it out, through a combination of luck and brute force.

When you escape, you’re brought back to your room. This is where the real difficulty begins. I must have spent, oh… a long time, we’ll say, trying all variations of this one. Simply put, you are looking through a telescope at stars, and with your mouse you can “connect the dots” with the stars, so to speak. You just need to do the right ones. I won’t spoil things for you, but if anyone wants a tip, hit me up with a comment.

When you solve it, it’s an A-ha! moment, and back to the desert you go! But what’s this?

Only the biggest plot surprise in any online game I’ve ever played. Brilliant!
