Surf’s up!
Yes, I’ll admit it; while everyone else only needed two or three days of recovery, and a few very extraordinary people needed just one day to recover from Blogathon, I needed - what’s that? - just about three months. Ah well, better late than never.
But hey, we made it, and we raised hundreds of dollars, and now we’re in sunny California! By which I mean, at the end of this past August Colleen and I drove from Northampton, Massachusetts to San Diego, California, over the course of four days. We saw the biggest crucifix in the Western Hemisphere, the Painted Desert, and learned that in Indianapolis the local news anchorpeople really do call it “Indy”. Who’da thunk it?
I’ll be making a slow return to these spaces, eventually, tweaking and cleaning and bringing Seeworthy back from the brink of death (or where-ever it is blogs are after very long hiatuses). I’m working with Blogathon again, so yes, there’ll be talk of that, and I’m a grad student now, so probably some of that.
Oh, and I’m a California girl now, so maybe some surfing, too?

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
Excellent. I’ve been awaiting your return. Do you live in Cali now, and what are you studying for your graduate work?
Glad to have you back.
Thanks Dylan! Yeah, we’re in San Diego now, and I’m working on my Master’s in Women’s Studies. I can’t wait to get back east though, I miss the cold autumns already!
