Auto-pilot
I think I’ve finally achieved what has eluded me for the past four years: life on auto-pilot. While it doesn’t seem that great, I managed to make it through a pretty rough weekend - two days of training separated by a lovely day of academic work - relatively unscathed. Granted, last night I had nightmares about not knowing how to process a check or help someone find a book, but at least I’ve managed to get through my first weekend on triple-duty (student, teaching assistant, book peddler) with minimal hair-pulling.
On the downside, I’m not entirely certain that any of the academic work I completed this weekend was worth its salt, but I suppose for now I’ll just have to wait and see, and thank my lucky stars that, at least in the courses I have now, mid-terms and finals are non-existent, so I can focus on the course I’m TAing in and on (stumbling through) training at the bookstore. Holy run-on sentence, Batman!

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
