The best gift of all
Today I’ll be turning in my last paper for the semester; it’s still a little unreal to me that my first semester at graduate school has come to an end. In all honesty, it could have come to an end a whole lot sooner - as in, earlier last week, if only I had been able to motivate myself to finish yet another paper on fat stuff, instead of playing another skiing game on Miniclip or finishing every level of that scribble game, or making the perfect Chanukah icons because really, the world needs more not-Christmas “seasonal” icons. Or so it seemed at the time.
Only a few pages, a few rounds of proofreading, and a couple thousand citations to go. And with the building almost empty with everyone gone on vacation and the end very much in sight, I think I’ll almost enjoy those last few citations. Almost, but not quite.

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
