Heather MacAllister passes
Sorry to be breaking a two-weeks-long silence with sad news, but I wanted to post for anyone visiting who might not have known; activist, writer, performer and all-around extraordinary fattie Heather MacAllister, of Big Burlesque and Fat-Bottom Revue, passed away yesterday after a long battle with ovarian cancer. I only saw her perform once, at NOLOSE in 2005, but it was one of the most (if not THE most) amazing, inspiring dance/performance shows I’ve ever seen. Heather was absolutely electrifying, and her passing is a tremendous loss. For more info about memorial services, you can visit this page on the NOLOSE site.

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
