Level 25: Urban Dead

The same friend who introduced me to Boomshine was the one who introduced me to Urban Dead.

Urban Dead is the first RPG I ever participated in, which isn’t entirely accurate, because it’s actually an MMORPG - a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. Except that not everyone really gets into the “role-playing” bit.

Now, I don’t want to say I’ve gotten into this game, because I think it’s something of a geeky game to be involved in. I mean, zombie apocalypse in a massive city in England? Zombies who can be re-humanized? Being able to use a cricket bat as a weapon?

Yeah, they didn’t pinch that last one off of any popular zombie apocalypse movies.

Anyhow, Urban Dead is a thoroughly enjoyable zombie adventure game. You can play as a zombie - as I am, in the image above - and wander the city mauling people solo. Alternately, you can join a zombie horde (I’m a member of the only all-female zombie horde) and do damage (and “level” - gain skills and experience) faster.

You can pick of a bunch of skills as a zombie, but my personal favorite? Feeding Drag - where zombies can drag “dying” survivors out of buildings and into the streets.

Seriously - if you have a fear of zombies, this will cure it. Quick.
