Three things
1. I’ve been a big fan of Claire Robertson and Loobylu for years now, so I was tickled to be able to snag one of the prints of “Lily in the Garden” when she sold them on her Etsy last week. Since we’re moving in August it won’t get framed/hung until we’re in The Midwest, but I did take it out for a few pictures and squees:
2. Via Alison Bechdel’s blog: for fans of lolcats, loltheorists or lolfeminism: The Lol-Word. Warning: the end of the blog features macros of the puke-tastic series Work Out. But there are some gems on the blog:
3. Spoiler alert: I am going to talk about Season Eight of Buffy (the comic continuation), specifically episodes 11-12… after the cut!
I’m assuming, if you’re here, you’ve read the comics, or don’t plan to. But… can we just talk about something? Just you and me?
Buffy. And… Satsu? Getting their gay on? My brain had a minor explosion when I read it, and while I’m always glad to see more queer characters in any series, I’m not so sure I’m feeling celebratory re: this latest story arc. I haven’t read #13 yet, so who knows where it’ll go, but it gives me belly rumblings to see (straight*) Buffy experimenting with (queer) Satsu, only to tell her afterwards that it’s a one-time thing. Not that she should feel used or anything…
Thoughts on it?
*Yeah yeah, I know Buffy is pretty much inherently queer, but let’s say she self-identifies as straight.

The criticisms of my students would serve as a good warning to visitors of Seeworthy: she talks too fast, she's too hard on us, she assigns too much work, and you have to be a dyke to get a good grade.
In other words, I'm a big, fat, queer, feminist meanie, and I am totally out to get you. Graaagh!
