Spam and No school part II

September 5th, 2005

Due to the massive amounts of spam commenting, I have talked it over with Sheana and we have decided on two main plans of attack:
-upgrade my WP then
-require registration to comment.
I don’t want to have to make you guys register, but I can’t handle all this spam - its so bad the I don’t even read the comments, so I wouldn’t be getting any real ones anyway.

This not going back to school thing is even harder than I’d expected. I guess it will get easier when I’m back at work and not hanging out in Sheana’s room all the time.
Plan for the day:
schmooze around
Read HP#4
watch TV
eat lunch
go unpack some at apartment
go to hardware store
eat
read
bed

I love long weekends.

Spam, Moving, and Why My Life Is Wonderful

September 3rd, 2005

I have been getting a few hundred spam comments to moderate a day. It’s insanity. No one wants to know about viagra and penis-enlarging drugs. At least I don’t.
We’ve moved to Easthampton and Allegra just moved her stuff out the other day. Everything is everywhere in boxes and we can’t put the futon frame together because some itty-bitty pieces got lost during the move. :( I hate living out of boxes, but its all coming un packed slowly. I helped Sheana move her stuff in at Smith last night and then we had a short and very small movie party (just me and Sheana and only half of the movie). Its just not the same without the people we used to watch movies with.
The kitten is here and absolutely loving all of this moving around (except for mom’s puppy). This morning, for the first time ever, I got her to stop biting/playing with me and be a good cat. She even gave me a love nip. She’s so cute.
Work is fine (as usual). But seeing everyone back in school makes me miss it - I’m dying to get back in school. I just need to take my GREs, apply, move and pay Smith off so I can get my transcripts sent. I have a feeling I’m really going to miss it even more once they start classes.
I’m having a birthday party the weekend after next. So if you’re reading this and interested, email me for details and such (though I imagine I’ve emailed most of the people that would be interested.

I am such a bastard.

Today, I was pulling out from Stop and Shop, with ample room between me and the car already on the road, the woman (now) behind me decided that she was going to speed up as I pulled out onto the road and then make nasty faces at me becuase she was going way to fast. When my attempts to speed up failed to please her, Sheana and I decided to teach her a lesson.
She pulled onto the ‘highway’ behind us and immediately pulled into the left lane to pass me. Now, my car has some get-up-and-go, so I sped up and didn’t let her pass me. I stayed just barely in front of her until the end the two-lane became a one-lane. Then, I slowed down. Now, I didn’t slow down to like 5 miles an hours, but it was a decent 40-45 miles and hour (in what was probably a 55mph zone). She made faces, waved out of her window, picked her nose and I’m pretty sure I saw her yelling.
Sheana flipped her off as we turned off of that road onto ours.
I really am terrible.

I have restarted this browser about 45 times. I have restarted my computer about 5 times. I spilled Salsa Con Queso all over the back of my leg, the floor, and my computer tables (ghettos desk). I also made a Blogathon cake and two other solid meals. All in all, a very productive day. But I am ready to be done!
Today’s Game of the Day (Game getting the highest rating) is (dun dun DUN)

Second place:
ALCHEMY

Third place:

And I just want to thank you all for tuning in, giving me your siggestions and leaving your words of encouragement for me. It really meant a TON. :)

Rating: 9.0
Objective: Modern take on the arcade classic pong. Use your battle to keep the ball in the air and clear the level of all colored squares. This game rocks!

Bonus Entry!

This morning (or yesterday morning) my cat got a plastic bag with a full water bottle in it wrapped around her neck. Before I even noticed it, she started freaking out and running in circles and slamming into walls. She did this for about 1 minute around our (not so small) livingroom before finally running a dead end behind the couch. There was no movement. We finally figured out what she had done and got it off, but that minute in between was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen,
Then, she was hangin’ out under the couch cover (like you do) and a lamp fell over next to her. I’m pretty sure it didn’t hit her, but it sure as hell freaked her out and she would not get back under that cover.
Now, she has managed to unplug our fan by tugging and chewing on the wire.
Crazy fucking cat!

Game #43 - Boom Boom Volleyball

August 7th, 2005

Rating: 5.2
Objective: Just like regular volleyball - try to hit the ball over to the otherside in 3 hits or under. Be careful! The ball will explode if it bounces too many times.
Bonus: Get to the fifth level and there’s a “play topless” option.
However, getting to the fifth level is impossible.

game #42 - Make your Own Kaleidoscope

August 7th, 2005

Rating: 6.1
Objective: Okay, so it’s more of a toy, really… but still. Cool, huh? Just add peices on one side and veiw your kaleidoscope on the other!
